Job Summary: The Accountant II prepares, reconciles, and audits budgets. Prepares financial reports, invoices, schedules, and/or statements. Completes journal entries. Reviews, analyzes, and approves expenditures. Determines fund balances. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, University policies, and procedures. Provides guidance and trains entry-level accountants.
Additional Department Summary: Oversees fiscal affairs, contract and grant management, and serves as the representative for the Office of the Vice President for Community Affairs on internal and external policy, budget, and administrative committees.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, business, or related financial field and two (2) years of accounting experience; OR Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field and five (5) years of accounting experience; OR master's degree in Business Administration or related field and three (3) years of accounting experience. Experience working with Banner and project management software. Experience in fiscal management, administration, higher education leadership, project management, or related experience in a higher education setting.
