Job Summary:

College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) includes three academic units, totaling over 600 faculty and 18,000 students. This position oversees the coordination of daily financial management, processing documentation for financial activities and management within the Nursing departments of CONHI, involving over 500 faculty and 15,000 students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Reconciliation:

  • Team leader overseeing day to day workload of the Accounting staff.
  • Oversight includes monthly reconciliations, recommendations for allowable use of various department funding sources, and running various as needed. Ensures financial transactions align with university policies as they relate to account management, college reporting, and funds. Initiate transfers, general error correction.
  • Prepare reports for management, representing current and projected financial status and providing explanations on large variances and discrepancies using research and analysis tools.
  • Serves as lead CONCUR expert.
Budget:
  • Assist in the annual budget preparation and year-end audits, ensuring accuracy of accounting data.
  • Making recommendations based on findings.
  • Initiate cost center requests, funding change e-Forms including grant appointments, distribution of income and expense, and general error corrections as requested by the Manager of Business Services and/or College Business Officer.
Facilities:
  • Track and update space in CASIM and ongoing tracking of open offices.
  • Coordinate office moves, ensure offices have been refreshed after each occupant leaves.
  • Tracks work orders to ensure timely response and request fulfilled to expectations.
Customer Service and Team Work:
  • Provide procurement and Concur training and guidance to Nursing faculty, staff, and students and serve as subject matter expert in business systems.
  • Manage Nursing and general college operating procedures to ensure they are always up to date with university expectations.
  • Explain/train University and college/departmental policies and procedures to resolve routine questions and problems escalate questions and problems to the Manager as needed.
Other:
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in administration, accounting/finance, or business management.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in higher education with HR, procurement and PeopleSoft experience.
  • UTA systems.
  • Excel certified.
  • Supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, knowledge of accounting cycle, detail oriented.
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure.
  • Be fully engaged, collaborative, and respectful while being a fully participating voice of the business services team, working to create and maintain a collaborative, team oriented and supportive environment.
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment where change in process/procedures is the norm.
  • Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
