Accounting Manager (Not-for-Profit)

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Overview:

The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Controller and serves as back-up for the Controller as needed. This position performs detailed analysis and monitors internal controls. Provides supervision and hands-on support to Payroll, General ledger, Accounts Payable, Cash, and financial reporting functions.

Duties:

• Responsible for oversight of accounting functions, such as payroll, accounts payable, and cash.

• Ensures compliance with accounting principles and organizations policies, procedures, and contracts.

• Assists with preparation of financial statements, tax forms (e.g. Forms 990 and 1099), financial analyses, cashflow reports, and assigned account reconciliations. Ensure maintenance and organization of all necessary documentation for assigned accounts and transaction cycles.

• Prepares trend analysis & revenue projections

• Prepares monthly expense variance analyses with detailed variance explanations for assigned transaction cycles.

• Manages the effective and accountable use of financial resources to support the Association's services and programs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors in accounting or finance required

• 5 years of supervisory accounting experience required

• Payroll processing skills a must!

• Great Plains preferred

• Not-for-profit industry experience preferred
