The Senior Specialist- Accounts Receivable will be responsible for recovering and processing funds due to specific government programs in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. In accordance with all federal and state regulations, accounting principles, and Accounts Receivable directives and procedures by establishing, analyzing, and researching customer accounts and repayment plan options; maintaining communication with internal and external personnel and customers; updating and monitoring reports and systems; and reconciling accounts receivable balances.

Essential Functions:
  • Monitor recoveries on receivables and follow up with collection activities as appropriate
  • Establish new receivable accounts then research, negotiate and communicate appropriate repayment options to start the recovery process
  • Review applicable Federal and State policies and regulations
  • Prepare necessary paperwork and accounting entries in the receivable systems and tracking reports
  • Demonstrate excellence in communication skills, data gathering, analysis, reporting, and process improvement
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of all protected health information when analyzing material
  • Maintain thorough electronic documentation
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3 years' experience in office environment
  • Experience with accounts receivable and/or debt collection preferred
  • Experience working with and having the ability to manipulate databases
  • Be well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Possess ability to quality review own work
  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Ability to work well independently or with others
  • Ability to be organized, effectively handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office software tools, specifically Excel including the ability to create pivot tables and charts
The Team:

Myers and Stauffer takes pride in the welcoming and collaborative culture we have throughout our offices. For this position, the employee will report to one of our Managers or Senior Managers on the Rate Setting/Federal Compliance engagement team.

Work Style:
Our general business hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, but can vary based on business needs. Dependent on performance, our in-office associates are eligible for a hybrid work schedule after their initial 90-day training period. As a company, we are always willing to discuss potential flexibility that an employee may need to better suit their work-life wellbeing.
