Position Title:
Admissions Program Coordinator
Position Summary:The Admissions Program Coordinator is responsible for the effective planning and execution of Office of Admissions sponsored pre-college summer programs for high school students. The incumbent will also support the Office of Admissions in the execution of on campus Admissions events and special projects at the direction of the Director of Admissions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :Pre-College Programs
High School diploma and a minimum of five years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience are required.
This position requires exceptional project and management skills. position requires excellent interpersonal, customer service, organizational skills and record keeping techniques. Must have demonstrated experience in managing complex programming and strong organizational skills with an emphasis to detail and follow up on assignments. Must be assertive and be able to work independently while meeting the goals of the office. It is necessary to have the capacity to work in a fast pace, high-stakes environment. The incumbent must possess the ability to prioritize effectively, maintain confidentiality, handle matters with tact and diplomacy, interact in a diverse community, manage details, multi-task, and adapt to changing situations, with a strong ability to see projects through completion.To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite, including the preparation of mail merges, flyers, and spreadsheets. Using formulas and creating forms are also important. Incumbent must have excellent typing skills.Strong oral and written communication skills are important, as this position will regularly interact with and communicate ideas with other members of the division, the Spelman community at large, and the general public in the execution of responsibilities.

Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit, walk, use hands to handle office supplies, operate computer and other office equipment, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to: stand, reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to stoop and move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
