AP/Accounting Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in McLean, VA that is seeking an AP/Accounting Manager.Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the entire accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
  • The AP/Accounting Manager will manage the AP subledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and reconciled with the general ledger
  • Maintain a strong understanding of debits and credits to ensure proper accounting treatment of all transactions
  • Develop and implement AP policies and procedures to improve efficiency and control
  • Monitor and analyze AP metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure smooth workflow
  • Prepare and review AP reports, including aging reports, payment forecasts, and accruals
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
  • The AP/Accounting Manager will lead and mentor the AP team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and financial reporting


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (highly preferred)
  • Minimum of five years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly debits and credits
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
