Summary:
The Employee Health Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) implements the planning, organizing, evaluating, communicating, consulting and teaching required in the provision of employee health care services to employees.
Responsibilities:
Prescribes or recommends and administers drugs and vaccinations. This position also provides health education, drafts/revises policy and procedures and provides policy interpretation relative to Employee Health Services. The ARNP promotes optimum health and safety in the work place and collaborates with other health care professionals in assessing and managing health care problems, maintaining continuity of care.Provides health education, drafts/revises policy and procedures and provides policy interpretation relative to Employee Health Services.Provides Employee Health medical services following established protocols and standards within the NP Scope of Practice.Promotes optimum health and safety in the work place and collaborates with other health care professionals in assessing and managing health care problems, maintaining continuity of care.Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess the patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Documents findings, formulates plans and prognosis based on patient condition.Performs pre-placement physical assessments and medical surveillance examinations that are job specific, triaging and treating work-related injuries/illnesses and performing preventative health measures.Refers patients to a physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for evaluation and/or treatment.

Additional Job Information:
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Other Information: Experience in an Employee/Occupational Health setting within a Hospital or Health System preferred.**This job requires privileging and credentialing.**Employees who are hired/transfer/re-hired must meet certification requirements or possess 7 years of APP experience in particular area of expertise. Any movement requires meeting the credentials outlined in the job description. ACLS & PALS is preferred based on area of specialty. ***BLS required for all.Additional Education Info: Exempt from Master s Degree if graduated prior to 1998
