Assistant Controller

Job Summary: The Contract Assistant Controller will support the Controller in overseeing the financial operations of the company for a specified contract period. This role includes managing accounting functions, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within a manufacturing environment, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Controller in managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
• Perform variance analysis and financial modeling to support business decisions.
• Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits.
• Monitor and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and processes.
• Provide guidance and support to accounting staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
