Position Overview:

As the Assistant Controller, you will assist the Controller in ensuring that our accounting and finance activities are performed in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other company practices, policies, and procedures. You will be responsible for assisting the Controller by directing the daily activities of the accounting department, including financial report preparation, month-end processes, accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR), payroll, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Help lead the accounting team, by fostering a collaborative environment and promoting professional development.
  • Assist the Controller to oversee all accounting operations, including billing, A/R, A/P, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Work with Controller to ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Assist the Controller to manage compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Participate in the annual financial statement audits and collaborate with external auditors.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and business processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Analyze financial data and trends, proactively investigating discrepancies and recommending solutions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop key performance indicators and drive financial performance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of accounting and finance experience.
  • Strong background in Deltek Costpoint is highly preferred.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups).
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% as needed.
  • Experience with ANCs, DCAA, and FAR is a plus.
