The Department of Art & Art History at the University of Miami invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Printmaking/Design Thinking to begin August 15, 2025. The department seeks Studio Art candidates working in the following fields, or at the intersection of these practices: traditional modes of printmaking; digital or computer-based printmaking; design thinking and innovation. We are particularly interested in applicants who can contribute to existing college and university programs, including the new Innovation co-major program. The expected teaching commitment is 2-2. Successful candidates must have an MFA in hand by the position start date of August 15, 2025, with significant teaching experience and a strong (or promising) record of professional exhibitions.

Applicants should upload a single PDF document including: (1) cover letter; (2) CV; (3) teaching statement focusing on your ability to contribute to an inclusive undergraduate and graduate population that serves a diverse array of students; (4) MFA transcript (unofficial is acceptable for initial application); (5) portfolio of 20 personal artworks; and (6) portfolio of 20 student artworks. The single PDF should not exceed 25MB. Please arrange for three reference letters to be sent directly to the search chair at art-arh@miami.edu. Applications received on or before December 1, 2024 will be given full consideration, though the committee will continue to accept applications until the position is filled.
