Assistant VP Financial Strategy

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Associate Vice President for Financial Planning and Analysis, the Assistant Vice President of Financial Strategy will independently perform financial analyses to assist with financial planning efforts, forecasts, integration of financial planning and strategic planning, budget analysis and analyzing key metrics while delivering economic insights. As a valued contributor to Meharry's financial management function, the position is further responsible for consistent and timely reporting of financial information, and decision-making support analyses to optimize the strategic allocation of the College's resources.

Essential Functions:

• Provide strategic direction in the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes
• Support data-informed decision-making for leadership
• Continuous process improvement

• Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills
• Ability to independently manage complex, large-scale projects from start to finish; results-driven, proactively seeks creative solutions to challenges and gaps in information
• Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization, unquestionable integrity, and flexible/adaptive working style
• Strong written communication and presentation skills; comfortable and experienced at presenting to senior-level audiences

• Seven to ten years of experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting or Finance position
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; MBA Preferred
• Able to articulate and present leveraging both in visual and written form to senior leadership
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive results
