Position Description: With a focus on driving business value through development of sustainable solutions and managing environmental risks within the company's product portfolio, this role will collaborate with Segment sustainability teams to lead the development and deployment of the Segment Sustainability strategy and tactical execution plans, working in close collaboration with Segment Leadership, Brand and R&E teams. The incumbent translates global sustainability programming/goals to a focused approach designed to capture business value and elevate K-C's brands, leveraging customer/consumer insights and determining markets with highest potential for penetration. The incumbent will analyze the interactions between category sustainability risks/opportunities and the business strategy, plan and deploy a customized approach that creates commercial value and sets targets and accountability processes and aligns resources and SMEs need to activate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Segment sustainability resources to develop the sustainability strategic planning and deployment process for the segment leveraging customer and consumer insights, trends and business value creation levers to prioritize areas of focus.
  • Works closely with functional and operational leaders to clarify and align strategic goals with those with direct accountability for planning and execution. Creates and partners to deploy an effective and aligned tactical implementation plan.
  • Explores, recommends and enables development of innovative business models, products and processes designed to enhance the sustainability performance of K-C's brands and products.
  • Actively engages with IMF, FEI and other business processes to ensure principles of sustainability are embedded and considered in decision-making. Collaborate with brand and innovation teams to embed "Design for Sustainability" processes and capabilities
  • Partners with business/brands/innovation teams to identify, develop, launch strategic initiatives capable of driving growth and competitive advantage through sustainability.
  • Leverages sustainability SMEs/program leaders to develop and provide sustainability-related analysis, evaluation, advice and direction on all relevant projects/issues/business opportunities. This includes identifying potential business opportunities, anticipating risks, and recommending solutions. Focus areas will include:
    • Active support of sustainability-related marketing and communications activities
    • Exploration of business development opportunities designed to expand K-C's sustainability competencies to competitive advantage and business growth
    • Building a sustainability mindset and capabilities within K-C's innovation/brand teams and processes
  • Strives for excellence in all formal and informal communications. Work towards clear, cogent, practical and action-oriented written and oral communications that focus on the problem, recommend solutions and take into consideration the audience being addressed.
  • Utilizes digital systems/platforms to ensure strong reporting and analytics for the Segment, report progress and gaps via tiered accountability systems. Facilitate roadblock removals, including financial cost mitigation strategies and advanced exploration of sustainability opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with an additional business degree or business experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading large scale, global initiatives within a Fortune 500 organization.
  • 10 plus years of experience in a business-related role working with brand and innovation teams, within a global, multi-site company.
  • Knowledge of sustainability-related legal requirements and technical standards.
  • Experience and demonstrated track record converting stakeholder insights and business case development into value adding strategic plans/activation.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross functional teams, including procurement, R&D, and Supply Chain Operations
  • Strong business acumen, influence, strategic planning, program and change management expertise.
  • Strong communication skills and aptness to educate and inspire audiences across various levels/functions (including personnel in Supply Chain Operations, Sales & Marketing, Research & Engineering, Government Affairs, Legal, etc.) influencing behaviors/outcomes without direct authority.
  • Ability to travel as business needs require (up to 30%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree in sustainability
  • Proved track record of translating customer requirements to business processes within Fortune 500 corporations.
  • Prior Lean Six Sigma or Lean Operations experience strongly preferred.
  • Versatility in thinking and execution - Ability to move the organization.

The anticipated pay range for this job has a range of : $158,000 to $195,000

At Kimberly-Clark, pay is just one aspect of our total rewards package, which also includes a variety of benefits and opportunities to achieve, thrive and grow. Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our 401(k) and Profit Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience. Please note that the stated pay range applies to US locations only.
