Job Description Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and executing new business opportunities in the Chain C-Store segment as well as foodservice spaces not historically serviced by frozen potato product manufacturing. Specifically in the Chain Account Sandwich/Bakery, Coffee and all other non-traditional frozen potato/vegetable segments within the U.S (SGI focus). This individual will have an entrepreneurial, pioneering mindset with a strong degree of ingenuity and resourcefulness- specifically cross-functional engagement. The right candidate will establish business goals and objectives that translate into execution through the development of strategic, integrated customer business plans. This role will deliver on assigned volume and financial objectives within specified targets and does not manage a current portfolio of accounts.
This position is remote and can be located near major metro airport.
Job Description
- Cultivate and develop new Chain Foodservice and C-Store operator partnerships across U.S. geography within specified targets.
- Drive sales solutions through innovation, category insights, & industry analytics developing new business opportunities with chain accounts with predominant focus on Sales Growth Innovation product solutions within C-Store & Non-Traditional Foodservice. Works collaboratively across the sales, finance, marketing and SGI team to secure resources needed to deliver objectives.
- Involved in business development strategy and planning. Develops strategic plans for assigned portfolio, proactively adjusts plans and resources to maximize results recognizing the implications of changes.
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services Lamb Weston can provide, and of the company's competitors with a core focus on Strategic Growth, Innovation product solutions and operator segments
- Cultivates relationships at all levels of the customer's organization to develop collaborative business plans measured by joint scorecard metrics, using Strategic Selling tools. Leverages data and insights to activate customer solutions.
- Leads and delivers major opportunities, which have significant impact at the highest levels in the organization. Builds and maintains a sales pipeline of opportunities to deliver AOP.
- Manages P&L for assigned portfolio. Manages financial levers (e.g. contracting, pricing, A&P spend, etc) to deliver AOP. Leads contract negotiations with assigned customers for successful contract renewals/extensions.
- Aligns resources and successfully influences direct team and cross functional business partners at higher levels within and outside of the organization.
- Works independently with general direction from sales leader in terms of corporate objectives and priorities. Must understand the longer sales cycle to bring new opportunities across the targeted segments.
- Develops a rapport with new clients, sets targets for sales and provides support that continually improves the relationship. Leverages data and insights to activate customer solutions.
- Reconciles company's and customer's financial objectives in creating and revising business plans and budgets.
- Interacts with cross-functional teams within Lamb Weston- particularly Sales Growth Innovation team and assists in strategic distributor development (C-Store) and FS Chain team support & training.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business Management or related field preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years of sales experience with increasingly higher levels of responsibility, career progression, and large account management. Combination of education and experience deemed suitable for the role by management.
- Strong category management skills.
- Ability to align business objectives with cross-functional partners.
- Computer Skills: Ability to use a variety of technologies and tools including, Microsoft Suite, virtual meeting rooms/web conferencing, CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce.com, DOMO, Power BI, PROs).
- Demonstrated ability to utilize digital/remote selling capabilities.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal skills and ability to negotiate. Ability to read, write and speak in English required. Bilingual skills desirable.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $121,670.00 - $182,510.00
