Business Operations Manager Global Patient Services
The Business Operations Manager manages all aspects of processes and operations related to patient and relevant payer finance/billing. Leads and inspires a high performing, service-oriented team of multi-lingual and multi-cultural professionals. With an eye toward innovation, ensures efficient processes, is proactive in identifying new solutions to complex problems, and promotes high levels of patient and payer satisfaction. Establishes programs, policies and procedures to maximize reimbursement for all services rendered, prevent denials, and minimize financial risk to the institution while maintaining high levels of quality. Serves as a key contributor to Department leadership team, leading efforts in strategic planning, training, workflows, and policies. Actively makes decisions in line with our department policies and procedures, reflecting department strategy. Effectively informing department leadership on current trends and their implications, with the ability to influence via strong communication, presentation, and data visualization skills. Embodies the values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Primary responsibilities include:
1. Creates and oversees MGB Global Patient Services finance functions related to estimates, billing and authorization, working with MGH IPC & BWH IPC staff, enterprise, facility and physician organization-level finance teams across the system to optimize revenue cycle processes for GPS patients and referring entities.
2. Serves as a key contributor in the GPS business strategy in key areas related to payer performance and account management through a series of cross-functional workgroups that involve collaboration with enterprise-level departments which include C-Suite, VP and Director-level personel
3. Serves as department representative in conversations with clinical leads related to international patient access, pricing and payment plans with the purpose of informing, influencing and decision-making
4. Owner of the International Payer Business Review meeting series, extracting data from reports, creating slide decks, aiding in the storytelling and communications of the reports.
5. In conjunction with the MGH IPC and BWH IPC leadership, leads and supports managers and directors in developing and improving operations and workflows to ensure highest performance of all functions
6. Provides KPI implementation, tracking and reporting related to estimates, billing and authorization workstreams
7. Recruits, retains, and inspires a high-performing team
