The Manager of Cardiovascular Business Development is responsible for identifying and executing on business development strategies within the Cardiovascular Service Line. This role will have accountability for the details
of key strategic initiatives that will accelerate development, growth and execution of cardiovascular strategies.
This individual will work collaboratively with team members to deploy cardiovascular initiatives across the cardiovascular service line (CVSL) as directed by the Vice President of the CVSL. Areas of focus include, but not
limited to: subspecialty program development, digital/virtual strategic development with Wellstar Health System partners, data collation and analysis of business operations, in-reach and outreach strategies of key programs, and project management of service line wide initiatives. Partnering with service line, CV practice operations, and financial leaders; develops and implements cardiovascular business plans for new and existing programs.
Responsible for vetting new technologies to explore inclusion within the service line to enhance patient care or operational efficiencies.
Responsible for partnering with the Wellstar system-wide partners such as finance, marketing, business development, strategic planning, data & insights, digital health, quality and more to advance the details of the service line
initiatives and strategies. Works to increase internal and referral provider knowledgebase, access, understanding, and comfort with WellStar Medical Group Cardiovascular Medicine providers, care, and communication.
Reporting to the Vice President for the CVSL, this position requires interface and communication at all levels within the organization, including but not limited to senior leaders, management, physicians, referral market administrator, referral market clinicians, community partners, and industry partners.
Seeking an individual who is self-directed, organized, detailed-oriented, strong relationship builder, project management skills and willing to learn the clinical and business aspects of cardiovascular care.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Business Development
• Vets and develops business plans related to new strategic or technological initiatives within the Cardiovascular Service Line (CVSL)
• Participates as a key contributor to the development of the CVSL strategic plan, including collecting and presenting the data and competitive analysis to ensure new/existing services and opportunities achieve WellStar Health System's strategic growth planning.
• Consults with appropriate management team members to develop departmental and cardiovascular business line strategic plans. Conducts a review of strategic planning activities to identify alternative methods and procedures to improve these services and their referral access.
• Partners with the System Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) to organize and execute on strategic initiatives and plans.
• Accountable for tracking, measuring performance and updating the CVSL strategic plan.
• Maintains connections with Industry partners to identify and develop partnerships to enhance patient care delivery.
• Administrative lead to evaluate new (non-device) technologies and business strategies.
• Partners with the Wellstar Business Development office to execute outreach strategy for the CVSL.
• Partners with Wellstar and contracted marketing resources to review and develop marketing strategies.
• Partners with Wellstar digital health office to execute on key CV digital
strategies.
• Participates with negotiation teams that may be called upon for joint venture formation, acquisition or merger of business entities, or when necessary, the divestiture of assets or business units.
• Collaborates across service lines and works effectively in a network environment inclusive of management team members, finance, physicians, nursing, and related clinical services.
• Delivers service line presentations to referring physicians and other key stakeholders.
Business Manager/Project Manager Subject Matter Expertise
• Integrates with key clinical teams to learn clinical and business development intersections as
needed to develop financial and business plans
• Support operational leadership teams in evaluating performance of key clinical programs as
guided
• Administrative lead for the Cardiovascular Digital Operating Steering Committee
• Ensures collaborative working relationships between clinicians and corporate departments,
division, and facility leaders.
