Summary
Responsible for developing Carelon Behavioral Health's long-term strategies regarding financial planning and investments. Provides financial leadership, decision support and strategic consultation to senior management team. Leads major financial functions for Carelon Behavioral Health, that may include financial analysis, financial reporting, financial operations, cost and budget management and allocation, asset management, balance and controls, forecasting, actuarial support (reserving, pricing and underwriting) and tax issue management.
Position Responsibilities
- Leads the general and administrative expense process.
- Creates and drives new revenue growth strategy.
- Oversees all consolidated reporting and analysis.
- Leads team in annual planning, budgeting, and long-term strategy processes.
- Leads the review of potential investment dollars needed to support strategy.
- Develops financial controls, interfaces, and processes to ensure fiscal integrity.
- Counsels senior leadership on ways to set and make plans through aggressive but financially controlled growth.
- Participates in optimizing strategic initiatives and planning through challenges to cost/benefit long term investments. Conducts measurement and benchmarking of financial trends.
- Directs preparation of annual operating/capital budget and quarterly/month end forecasts to provide senior leadership with tools necessary to maximize investment of resources.
- Oversees business unit projects involving significant monetary investment.
- Directs interface with regulatory and audit personnel and technical consultants as required to ensure fiscal accountability.
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Position RequirementsRequires a BA/BS in accounting, finance, or business administration and minimum of 15 years related experience in areas such as financial operations, financial analysis, administrative cost allocations and analysis, budgets, and forecasting which includes prior management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences
- Masters degree preferred.
- CPA, CFA, CMA, or CCM preferred.
- Finance experience specifically for Behavioral Health organizations desired.

Staff VP Carelon Behavioral Health Finance For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $199,920.00 to $344,862.00.
