Carlisle Construction Materials, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology, has an immediate opening for a Process Engineer II at its CCM Poly-Iso plant in Tooele, UT.

* The Carlisle Operating System (COS) is the continuous improvement effort at Carlisle Construction Materials. The COS Improvement Process Engineer II is the primary COS resource for continuous improvement at CCM locations. This individual will work closely with business leaders, plant management and local COS resources to assist with all aspects of their continuous improvement journey. This is a highly visible position and requires knowledge and understanding of all aspects of manufacturing businesses. The position also requires the ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

* Identifying, scoping, and facilitating improvement events
* Conducting event follow-up to ensure sustainment
* Coordinating, teaching and coaching company-wide programs and initiatives such as Business Process Improvement, Idea System, 5S, Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
* Maintaining sustainability efforts for ISO14001 program, facilitating audits and steering team committee meetings

Essential Duties (% of time/month):

* Coordinate the overall COS journey to establish a culture of continuous improvement, ensure that goals are being met and that the appropriate number and type of events are taking place. Identify and correct weak spots relative to sustainment and continuous improvement. Partner with leadership to align COS with business needs. Identify and communicate best practices to the organization through knowledge sharing events (30%).
* Lead and/or participate in shop floor and business process Kaizen events and coach/train CCM employees with the Lean tools for process improvement (20%).
* Work with manufacturing personnel and office teams to increase the value realized from initiatives such as MDI, 5S, Idea System, TPM and the COS Framework. (30%)
* Facilitate progression of the IMS via monthly steering team committee meetings and objective tracking project advancement. (10%)
* Lead variation reduction projects using LSS principles to drive cost savings and improvement process performance. (10%)

Knowledge/Skills:

* Essential Full Performance Knowledge - Operational understanding of manufacturing, business software systems, business systems functions and how they inter-relate, and customer expectations.
* Proficient with Lean and Six Sigma tools including but not limited to Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Problem Solving, Mistake Proofing, TPM, MDI, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
* Effective project and time management techniques.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with excellent MS Excel skills.
* Essential Full Performance Skills - Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, problem solving and analytical skills, conflict resolution, listening skills, coaching and facilitating skills.
* Must be proficient with classroom type training as well as training at the work station, business process site or shop-floor environment.
* Must be able to think and perform in front of group settings in order to effectively facilitate group discussion and problem solving.
* Must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees and leadership.

Equipment/Data:

* Equipment Operated - Computers, calculators, overhead projectors, stop watches
* Materials - Typical office products and supplies, easels, markers, Sticky Notes, etc.
* Data & Software Used - Microsoft Office, MS Teams, MiniTab, SAP, Project Management Software
* Interactions with Others - Will interface with all levels of hourly employees as well as all levels of plant management and business leaders. Some work with outside consultants, customers and suppliers will also be required.

Work Environment:

* Generally, office-type environments along with plant settings. Shop Floor work areas in the plants may be dirty, dusty and hotter or colder than office settings.

Time Worked:

* Hours Worked - Work hours will vary based on the project and assignment. Generally the hours will be normal business hours but longer days should be anticipated as needed. Travel to/from other CCM locations will require hours outside of normal business hours.
* Days of Week Worked - Work days will generally be Monday thru Friday. Some weekends may be required but generally only for travel to or from other CCM locations.
* Shifts Worked - Primarily daylight shift, with some overlap expected to ensure standardized implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across afternoon and night shifts.
* Comments - This position will be based in Tooele, UT.

Physical Requirements:

* Normal physical requirements include walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing to facilitate training and investigation of problems and solutions in a manufacturing environment.
