Cost Engineer I

Responsibilities:

• Supervision of the monthly closing and preparation of an executive summary to be submitted to the Financial Manager.

• Preparation of the forecast for the next 4 month billing cycle, including revenue, cost, and cash-flow projections.

• Preparation and analysis of the following reports to ensure they accurately reflect the current project

status: monthly cost report, weekly reports, LDR, payroll, labor report, summary report, and weekly quantities.

• Preparation of payment report to be submitted to the owner at the end of each month.

• Supervision of subcontractors and service agreements, purchase orders and change orders, contract

modifications, and estimation of billing-payments and cost impact to the project.

• Keep track of quantities executed and quantities to be executed in all project activities

• Help prepare information for monthly job forecasting

• Help maintain the cost monitoring system (eCMS).

• Open cost codes and monitor that the costs are tracked properly.

• Review quotations utilizing supplier information, cost standards, technical information from quality, manufacturing, engineering, and design.

• Ensure that project charges are correctly represented for accounting's closing process.

• Evaluates that project charges are correctly represented for accounting's closing process.

• Any Other tasks assigned by manager

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction management preferred

• Bachelors Degree in Finance

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Cost control in Construction

• 3+ years of experience in cost control in Construction - Highway, Bridge, or rail preferred

• Excellent communication/presentation skills both verbal and written

• Highly organized and able to work independently

• Issue resolution skills

Annual salary range - $80,000 - $110,000 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, and skillset)
