Job Details:
The Full-Time Interpreter will provide assistance with interpreting communications which may be in oral and/or written form. The interpreters will assist in several areas, including but not limited to, training, meetings, HR, Safety, Quality, OHS, onboarding, orientations, disciplinary actions, and/or other areas. This position is held to strict code of confidentiality. Interpreter will also assist with various administrative tasks across multiple departments.
Description of Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Strict confidentiality required; must be able to be discrete and keep communications confidential. Signed confidentiality agreement required.
- Expected to assist in providing information to team members through interpretation; responsibility is to interpret only and not modify/revise communication.
- Will translate written communications, such as postings, benefit information, policies, etc. from English into Creole
- May schedule meetings, anniversary/birthday luncheons, and other activities and assist in the planning, organizing, and execution of events.
- Will assist with onboarding and application process, tours, open enrollment, meetings, trainings, disciplinary actions, team member concerns/issues, and other areas.
- Will be required to spend at least 40% of scheduled hours on production floor
- Will champion various projects and assist in administrative duties across multiple departments as assigned by management.
- Expected to always be professional, in both conduct and communication.
- Must notify HR and/or management immediately of any concerns or issues.
- Responsible for following company policies/procedures written or verbal.
- May occasionally require some overtime and/or adjustment to schedule to assist with other shifts.
- Performs all other tasks as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required for the Position
- Must be able to pass Interpreter Assessment with an average total score of 75% or higher.
- Must have fluency in selected language(s) (Creole) and English and be able to obtain a minimum of Level 1 Language Certification
- Must be able to follow direction and stay on task with little to no supervision.
- Must be able to effectively communicate to colleagues and management in professional manner.
- Must maintain high level of confidentiality - must not share any information about team members with others.
- Must have strong verbal communication skills in dominant and English language.

Training (Equipment & Methods)- •No specific training provided; if training requested, can utilize internal resources and/or Guild program for ongoing education/training.
Job Safety Analysis
- Personal Protective Equipment is necessary when on floor as required based on location/department: smock, hair net, ear plugs, slip resistant shoes and safety glasses, gloves, boots, aprons.
- Will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, known allergens such as soy, wheat, and milk; and extreme weather conditions.
- Will be occasionally exposed to high precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration.
- Will be regularly exposed to moving equipment and mechanical parts.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires hearing protection.
- Will consistently be walking/standing on concrete floors and exposed to wet/slippery surfaces for long/extended periods of time.
