Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Cybersecurity Information Systems Security Engineer L4 position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
The ideal candidate will assist the program manager in classified areas, supporting the DoD by providing direct daily support to classified networks. Required qualifications include DoD 8570.01-M IASAE Level III certification, though IAM Level III with relevant experience may be acceptable.
Key responsibilities involve ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of capabilities supporting U.S. Space Force priorities. The candidate will offer expert cyber support for security design and implementation to counter unauthorized access and emerging threats. They will provide the government with recommendations for cybersecurity programs, adhering to DAF, DoD, and IC standards. Other duties include conducting program reviews, managing schedules, updating action items, and researching IT security policies to ensure the protection of system data. All solutions must be compatible with existing hardware and software configurations and approved by configuration managers.
The role requires the ability to work on location and travel up to 15% to both continental U.S. (CONUS) and outside the continental U.S. (OCONUS) locations.
Compensation Minimum: $220,000
Compensation Maximum: $230,000
Job Requirements:
Skills / Experience Required
- Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance
- 15 years of relevant DoD work experience
- Aerospace/industry strategy experience
- In-depth knowledge of the Risk Management Framework and NIST standards
- Expertise in cybersecurity policies, programs, and techniques
- Proficient in managing projects from start to finish, including tasks, resources, timelines, and risk considerations
- Recognized as an industry leader with strong analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently and effectively interface with team members and senior leadership
- Strong skills in critical thinking and proactive problem prevention
- Ability to clearly express concepts, plans, and proposals
- Provides insights into potential risks affecting performance, schedule, and budget
- Ensures program deliverables meet quality standards and align with warfighting objectives
- Manages research, design, and development projects to meet specifications
- Oversees technical aspects of major initiatives
- Facilitates collaboration among diverse stakeholders to achieve project objectives
- Monitors design considerations, evaluating cost, schedule, and technical impacts
- Initiates and refines project requirements through completion
- Provides strategic advice and technical guidance to project personnel
- Conducts evaluations and offers recommendations for mission-critical tasks
- Leads studies and data analyses to support strategic decisions and solutions
Education / Certifications - Masters' degree: Arts (MA), Science (MS), or Engineering (ME)
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education
- DoD 8570.01 IASAE Level III. (IAM Level III with relevant experience may be considered as a substitute)

Security Clearance Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.
Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
