Job Description:
The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Substance Use Prevention Program Coordinator for the Behavioral Health Division. The Program Coordinator (C73260) will manage the Partnerships for Success (PFS) Grant through SAMHSA and assist with Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant implementation.
Examples of Work:
•Actively drive plans and implementation of comprehensive, multi-tiered strategies to initiate and enhance the prevention and risk reduction portfolio under the Partnerships for Success and Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant.
• Work with state agencies/programs, providers, community partners, stakeholders, and others to develop priorities related to substance use disorders and coordinate prevention activities to avoid duplication of efforts and support the agency and division's strategic plans.
•Coordinate and facilitate monthly (or bi-monthly) meetings (with related briefing materials) with Partnership for Success and Substance Use Block Grant partners.
•Provide technical assistance to program partners.
•Develop contracts and sub-contracts and monitor agreements for compliance with federal and agency guidelines.
•Conduct presentations and serve a liaison for prevention activities, such as evidence-based programming, media campaigns, and more, under the PFS and SUBG grants.
•Coordinate the Nebraska SAPST (Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training) and actively recruit individuals to the prevention field.
•Develop and prepare documents for submission of required federal and state reporting. This involves but is not limited to grant writing, needs assessments, and evaluation.
Requirements/ Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field OR experience in the development of operational policies and procedures, performing quality assurance analysis/evaluation of programs; grant writing, contract management, or leading community-based health/social care groups. Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology or related human services field. Experience working with behavioral health and/or community-based organizations. Enthusiasm in working with diverse stakeholders and constituents (coalition and community members). Experience in data collection, resource mapping, focus groups, surveys and key stakeholder interviews. Experience using data to evaluate, monitor and inform program implementation
