What we need:

The Director of Manufacturing leads all the of the Merchandising Samples production and distribution activities. This role is responsible for all resources related to workforce, physical assets, and capacities in accordance with overall company guidelines and operating principles.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for the effective and efficient operations of assigned manufacturing plant(s), to include engineering, manufacturing, planning, production, quality & Inventory etc.
  • Ensure manufacturing plant performance meets divisional goals and provides for the right skills mix and production processes to meet or exceed internal and external customer requirements and specifications.
  • Establish and maintain competitive production facilities, a motivated workforce and a safe and healthy work environment with flexibility and minimum cost.
  • Direct the indirect labor, direct labor, and fixed and variable cost reduction programs. Establish and communicate specific objectives and goals for each subordinate unit; maintain a skilled and motivated workforce to meet the current and future needs of the plant.
  • Work with plant management teams to plan, develop, and control operations, budgets, and resources to ensure the most cost-effective production of high-quality products for delivery to customers.
  • Proactively review and interpret plant performance against operating plans and standards; provide information and reports to subordinates on interpretation of results; recommend, solicit feedback for and approves changes in plans to address deficiencies and plan deviations to ensure division/plant goals and objectives are accomplished; present reports on plant and project performance, changes, scope variations, and other related matters to senior management.
  • Assure the availability of material to meet manufacturing plans consistent with customer needs, inventory restraints, and profit requirements by managing the materials function including imports, purchasing, inventory control, and planning.
  • Direct all Logistics function such as inbound freight, receiving, warehousing, line stock, project inventory, work in progress, stock in progress, work order management, outbound freight, etc., for all functional areas.
  • Actively participate on Division short- and long-term strategic planning meetings and projects addressing issues related to labor, manufacturing process and material requirements based on forecasts of product demand, technology changes, changes in productivity, supplier capacity, industry trends, performance measures, goals, and results, etc.
  • Lead or actively participate on division/plant projects, which includes but is not limited to, developing project plans, directing, and coordinating activities to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters; manage all aspects of requirements, design, development, implementation and testing of assigned projects.
  • Proactively seek ways to apply technology to business processes, researching and providing information on technical trends and competitors' practices; stay abreast of industry trends, technology changes, and best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance production technology and process flows as well as operating and tactical plans to improve efficiency and product quality as well as manage cost.
  • Ensure compliance with all Safety, Quality and Governmental requirements.

What you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 10-12 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-8 years of management experience.
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance preferred.

What else?
  • This employee will be responsible for direct reports.
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other conditions associated with a high-traffic production floor.
  • Must be able to walk long distances and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.
  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities.
  • The work environment may be a noisy, high traffic manufacturing production floor.
  • May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
  • The ability to lift fifty pounds regularly.
