Job Description

GPIseeks an entry-level Traffic Engineer to join our growing New England Region. We seek an ideal candidate with a high energy level, a great work ethic, and pride in providing highway engineering solutions as part of a team. You will gain valuable experience with a variety of project types including federal, state, county, city, and municipal clients. Responsibilities:

  • Perform traffic analyses under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Apply engineering principles on and in support of the design plans and construction documents
  • Participate in job site visits and attend project meetings
  • Interface with other technical disciplines
  • Learn and utilize current traffic engineering standards and practices
  • Learn and utilize drafting, traffic analysis, and simulation programs (Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, AUTOCAD, and Microsoft Office suite of programs)
  • Utilize good writing skills to prepare reports and technical memorandums
Qualifications:
  • BS in Civil Engineering required with a focus in Traffic/Transportation preferred
  • EIT certificate preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience working in the traffic design profession
  • Basic computers skills using MS Office

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
