Antea USA, Inc. (Antea®Group) is seeking an Environmental Compliance Engineer / Project Manager in our Western/Central Region to join our team in one of the following office locations: St. Paul, MN; Sacramento, CA; Seattle, WA; Fort Collins, CO; Austin, TX; or St. Louis, MO.

This position is structured for someone with strong technical experience and operations experience and will combine technical, financial, and interpersonal management skills while working with a team of engineers, scientists, health and safety specialists, and subcontractors.

This position reports to the Spill and Response Plans Service Line Leader and will both support and lead projects including proposal preparation, Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Facility Response Plans (FRP), regulatory interaction, Dock Operations Manuals, Oil Spill Response Plans (OSRP), Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) integrity management, AST inspections, and other projects involving compliance with Federal and Local Oil Pollution Prevention regulations. The position will include project management of these types of regulatory compliance projects and collaboration with technical team members supporting these compliance projects.

This is a full-time role with up to 25% travel required.

Where will I work?

This position's base will be flexible out of one of our Western/Central Region office locations with the flexibility to work remotely as assignments allow. In this hybrid work environment, it is expected that this position report to the office periodically and/or as requested for in-person meetings, mentorship, and leadership and collaboration with other team members. Some project work could require local, regional, and/or overnight travel for site visits to evaluate facility conditions for SPCC, FRP, OSRP, or SWPPP preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training

  • A minimum requirement of a degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of environmental compliance experience working with the regulations indicated above
  • Professional Engineer or Engineer In Training (EIT) with the ability to become a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) within 2 years of being hired
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER training beneficial but not required
Desired Experience
  • A proven track record of strong project management performance in environmental compliance consulting or a related field
  • A working knowledge of Oil Pollution Prevention regulations on the Federal level, and general industrial stormwater permit regulations at the Federal and State level. Experience with construction stormwater permitting, plans, and management is considered beneficial.
  • Experience writing SPCC plans and SWPP plans.
  • Experience with wastewater discharge permitting and pre-treatment permitting under local authorities having jurisdiction or under National or State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES/SPDES) requirements is considered beneficial.
  • Experience working in collaboration with clients in pursuit of regulatory compliance
  • Experience working at petroleum terminal and pipeline, railroad, chemical, technology, manufacturing, food and beverage, and wind energy facilities
  • Experience performing comprehensive site assessment and data collection at these facilities
  • Experience driving projects through regulatory compliance programs

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Potential employees must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, pre-employment drug screening (as permitted by law), and baseline physical (safety sensitive roles). They must also have a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment - Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
  • Sedentary to light work (typical office or administrative work)
  • Frequently required to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of low (under 25lbs) to moderate (25-49lbs) weight objects
  • Repetitive motions: substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (including reaching)
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change)
  • Operation of a motor vehicle
  • Working at heights under OHSA fall protection requirements (as necessary)
Additionally, if you are assigned work in the field at client project sites you will need to complete a medical surveillance/fitness-for-duty examination and maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
  • Medium to heavy work
  • Subject to outside environmental conditions: heat/cold, wind, wet and/or humid, etc.
  • Occasional stooping (bending body downward and forward), kneeling (bending legs at knee), crouching (bending body downward and forward) and climbing
  • Frequent lifting (including push/pull, hold/carry) of light, moderate and possibly heavy weight objects
  • Subject to hazards, including a variety of physical conditions, including but not limited to: proximity to moving vehicles, parts or equipment; exposure to chemicals; pressure (including noise); electrical hazards; biological hazards; elevated work; materials handling
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 - $110,000. Compensation will vary depending on the applicant's job-related knowledge and skills, education, work experience and certifications.
