We are seeking a talented Geologist II to join our team.The ideal candidate will have general experience in environmental remediation and/or monitoring systems and sampling, and demonstrate a willingness to learn. This key role handles various aspects related to quality control and field activities.

Responsibilities:

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

• Position will require field and non-field-related responsibilities. This position could require approximately 30% (or more) fieldwork and/or travel depending on project needs.
• Assists with development of work planning documents and fieldwork preparation.
• Provides proper documentation of soil and groundwater investigation activities to define nature and extent of contamination.
• Assists with data entry in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets or access databases.
• Researches project sites and writes reports documenting field activities.
• Reviews and summarizes analytical data.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor's degree engineering, geology, earth sciences, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in environmental consulting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in engineering, geology, earth sciences, or a related field.
• 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper Training and current 8-hour refresher. Other OSHA training (30-hour construction) is valued.
• As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable references and background check results.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, crawling, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of 35 pounds or more. If required, individual must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to; hard hats, safety-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Job is performed in a combination of office work, work throughout occupied and unoccupied buildings, and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Building assessments will be conducted throughout buildings including crawl spaces, attic spaces, and confined spaces. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
