Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant, Intensive English Institute - Boca Raton, FL.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate interested in English language teaching. Exposure to English language teaching techniques and strategies, assessment frameworks, classroom management, and English language program administration will provide invaluable experience to an individual excited about English language teaching.

The primary role of IEI is to prepare international students for university admissions to FAU. IEI also serves language learners who are seeking language training for other academic and professional goals.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Assisting senior instructors in the classroom.

• Assisting senior instructors with grading.

• Preparing materials for assigned courses.

• Delivering effective lessons as a substitute when required.

• Tutoring students 1:1

• Assisting the Academic Director with records, data analysis, general administration.

Minimum Qualifications:FAU degree-seeking graduate student with a minimum of five credit hours (or nine if international) and a minimum 3.0 GPA required.

Degree specialization in the field of Education or Linguistics Preferred.Salary:$16.00 - $25.00 per hour.College or Department:CGE: Intensive English InstituteLocation:Boca RatonWork Days and Hours:Monday - Friday, Part time between the hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., up to 20 hours.Application Deadline: 2024-11-19Special Instructions to Applicant: This is a part time position.
