Our consultants and experts work closely with attorneys and other stakeholders involved in construction project disputes (owners, developers, project management, in-house counsel) to provide, with a high degree of accuracy and consistency, analyses and opinions that are expected to be upheld in a court of law or other venue.

Job Description

An Industrial Hygienist II conducts the work of a Industrial Hygienist I for more complicated sites and with greater independence.

  • Working under the guidance of a more senior technical employee, will learn the position duties, tools, and processes necessary to accomplish this role.
  • Conduct tasks in the field related to Asbestos/Lead surveys, project monitoring, IAQ/mold assessments, and/or other project assignments as appropriate
  • Collect samples from project sites and deliver to third party laboratories for analysis - maintainig strict chain of custody.
  • Project monitoring and oversight of third-party contractors.
  • Prepare proposals, detailed Asbestos Survey and clearance reports, Indoor Air Quality/Mold assessments, and/or other technical assessment reports including accurate data/summary tables and/or figures.
  • Maintain consistent communication of project progress with the assigned project manager and/or clients from start to finish of the project.
  • Maintain assessment and monitoring equipment.
  • Prepare Health and Safety Plans/Job Safety Analyses for sites.
  • Meet utilization and other performance metrics as assigned by supervisor.
  • Obtain and maintain job relevant professional certifications
Additional Discipline Responsibilities
  • For Asbestos projects, review project specifications and provide Project Monitoring or Inspection services based on project specifics.
  • For Lead OSHA inspections, identify and collect paint samples from painted service for laboratory analysis.
  • For IAQ/Mold assessments, perform visual inspection(s), collect IAQ parameters, and under specific circumstances collect samples for laboratory mold analysis.

Qualifications

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field preferred.
Experience
  • 2 years' work experience as Asbestos Inspector or Project Monitor.
Certifications
  • Appropriate nationally or state-recognized professional certification:
    • AHERA Inspector
    • AHERA Project Monitor
  • NIOSH 582
  • Health and Safety Certification and Medical Monitoring pursuant to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (HAZWOPER 40 Hour) preferred. Training will be provided by the company - successful completion required.
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour training preferred. Training will be provided by the company - successful completion required.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to perform exceptionally under fast-paced conditions.
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to meet deadlines both internally and externally.
  • Ability/willingness for frequent regional travel up to 100%, with occasional overnight, extended stay and/or national travel. Travel may include car, train, or plane as necessary, sometimes with little advanced notice.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is required for this role, as it involves the frequent use of rental cars or company vehicles

Additional Information

The pay range for this role is $26 hourly or $60,000 annually.
