Job Description:

Perform duties to visually inspect the construction of finished units to ensure conformance to prescribed product specifications and engineering requirements, following prescribed routines and making minor decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work from QMS (Quality Management System), checklist, BOM (bill of material), and work instruction.
  • Work from computerized Quality Management System (QMS) components including assembly drawings, BOM (bill of materials), uninstalled items list, product specifications, and work instruction for all production functions and related checklists.
  • Create a serial numbers for completed units following established system. Record and assign serial number in the computer system database. Print and adhere serial number plate to completed units, verifying that all print is legible.
  • Adhere required labels to completed units including ETL listed labels, startup checklist, wiring diagrams, crane and rigging instructions, special instructions, and other labels as required by in BOM. Ensure that labels are positioned in proper locations and properly aligned.
  • Place required user manual in the unit. Install "Attention Contractor" label in electrical cabinet on designated units. Secure all required uninstalled items inside units to protect against damage in transit. Perform final cleaning of units. Secure final inspection stickers and uninstalled items list to the unit. Address any non-conforming shipment issues and take required photos of the unit.
  • Secure and bolt all doors. Ensure that all water source circuits are completely drained. Switch all MSP's and breakers to off position. Weigh unit and document weight in the appropriate database. Review "Job Status" in QMS to verify all processes have been completed. Finalize job folder, ensuring all required documentation is included. Scan documents into system as required.
  • Document serial numbers of unit and any accompanying devices being shipped with the unit.
  • Perform a visual inspection of all elements of completed the units. Inspect all areas of finished units using production area checklists as guides. Note completed tasks in QMS as completed acceptably and make note of any nonconformance.
  • Address identified Defects per Unit (DPU) as noted. Correct minor, cosmetic or non-repetitive DPU's. Ensure all major or repetitive DPU's are corrected by the process owners. Ensure that completed corrections are closed in QMS by process owners.
  • Remove air filters and inspect coils for damage. Ensure the completion of any required repairs and that all filter banks are filled with clean, new filters prior to closing units.
  • Install and secure heater access panels and storm deck. Cover drain pipes, drip pan vents, and gas pipe and air duct openings for shipment. Secure blowers in accordance with assembly drawing and verify that all valve caps are present and tightened.

  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Consistently operate in keeping with all safety rules and requirements.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Tools and Equipment:

Use computer including specialty software, crane, fork lift, scale, and hand and hand power tools.

Minimum Personal Protection Equipment (PPE):
  • Safety Glasses - ANSI Z87.1
  • Gloves - ANSI Cut 3 4544
  • Chemical Gloves - Nitrile
  • Foot Protection, Steel Toe - ASTM F2413-11

Physical Demand:
  • Frequently push with up to 120 lbs. of force.
  • Occasionally push and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 55 lbs.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, climb, maneuver, stoop, squat, grasp, and reach.
  • Visual and aural acuity
