Olympic College is seeking to hire a part-time Instructional Classroom Support Tech 1. This position efficiently manage the distribution of tools and equipment to students, ensuring that supplies are maintained and allocated in a fiscally responsible manner to support instructional needs and enhance student learning outcomes
Essential Functions
- Conduct periodic test of the equipment to see the need for malfunctions.
- Monitors the inventory in the lab to ensure the security of program equipment and overall facility.
- Assists in maintaining safety records within the welding lab.
- Assist the instructor in the safety of students while using the lab equipment by ensuring all PPE is being used and procedures are being followed.
- Maintains inventory list of all safety PPE, tools, and equipment.
- Handles setting up all materials and equipment for students to use in the lab.
- Assists students with course assignments as needed.
- Monitor the use and storage of all safety equipment, tools, and workstations.
- Administer instructions for welding exams, practices, or tasks as asked by the instructor.
- Assists instructor in maintaining a clean and safe welding environment.
- Assists instructor in keeping the weld shop organized.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum QualificationHigh school diploma or equivalent Experience in a welding shop or with welding equipment.
Desired QualificationsIntermediate computer experience, proficient in MS Office.Additional Information
Terms of EmploymentPlease note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered. Hourly employees must work 480 hours in a rolling six-month period to become eligible for health benefits. Hourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement. This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week, with a salary of $19.50. They are not initially eligible for benefits upon hire but could qualify for the following.
