About the Position:

This role is an on-campus, in-person position.

This position will support all GCOX faculty and programs: 6 MBA (2YR, 1YR, PMBA, EMBA, OMBA, MBA Direct) and 5 MS (MSA, MSBA, MSF, MSM, MSRE) programs, with specific attention on the OMBA and MBA Direct programs, with end-to-end design, development, and preparation of course set up in the e-learning technology systems, with emphasis on Canvas.

This will allow for alignment and synchronization with Canvas set-up across programs and courses and ensure quality delivery to our students thus contributing to a positive student experience and increased student satisfaction.

All 11 GCOX programs account for approximately 486 residential and 279 online course sections per academic year; 1,300-1,600 students per academic year, and annual revenue of $40M+.

The position will work collaboratively with faculty and course production teams to produce instructional and supplementary materials for online courses/programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with GCOX faculty with the design, development, and maintenance of all GCOX courses, specifically the fully online, remote, hybrid courses, and enhanced learning experiences.
  • Advise, train, and support faculty on the appropriate tools, media, and instructional strategies to achieve course learning objectives and develop quality course content, while ensuring courses and content meet design for learning and accessibility standards.
  • Perform regular course content quality and accessibility checks according to institutional and Cox School quality, compliance, and accreditation requirements, in addition to standards from Quality Matters, OLC, and other organizations
  • Research emerging technology, new applications, and online learning tools for recommendations to faculty for implementation and enhanced course design.
  • Coordinate activities alongside faculty throughout each course's development life-cycle to the course production team to ensure deadlines are realized.
  • Create learning outcome aligned multimedia resources such as video presentations, animations, interactive content, narrated slide presentations, screen captures, and audio recordings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Some evening and weekend work is required to support faculty and programs.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree preferred. A degree in Instructional Systems Design, Education Instruction or related field desired.

A minimum of three years of work experience is required.

Experience working with faculty to design online courses and programs, experience facilitating the creation of faculty course videos and experience piloting new teaching and learning technologies is also required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.

Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions.

Candidates must possess strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently. The ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing priorities is essential.

Candidates must have knowledge of course design principles and theories; Familiarity with Quality Matters desired. Must also have experience with Canvas or other learning management systems.

Experience with multimedia production using a variety of eLearning authoring tools such as Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Premier, or similar multimedia systems preferred.

Candidate must have a working knowledge of Canvas, Blackboard, or other learning management system.
