Schedule: 2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 2PM-10PM

Summary:
This position provides translation and interpreting services throughout the plant and the community. Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak the same language by converting one spoken language to another. Interpreting services include but are not limited to Employment, Training & Orientation, Meetings, Human Resources, Health Services, and other operational activities as assigned. This position is held to a strict code of confidentiality. The interpreter must be willing to work in all environments of the facility.
Requirements:
- Education: High school degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: Ability to read, write, and speak in French, Creole, and English at an intermediate level. Good general knowledge of the production areas and management personnel. Skilled in accurate interpretation. Must be able to communicate and translate effectively in verbal and written format English to French, and English to Creole and translate written documents. Confidentiality is a must.
- Special Skills: Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision, while at the same time be a member of team to coordinate and provide support as needed.
- Computer Skills: Basic PC skills preferred. Primarily Microsoft Windows XP Professional programs such as Excel Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office programs.
- Communication Skills: Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of team members from hourly to upper management as well as government officials.
- Must be able to pass the Interpreter Assessment with an average total score of 90% or higher.
- Schedule: 2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 2PM-10PM
- This role is on-site at our Waterloo Plant, IA.
- Must reside in the United States.
- Sponsorship is not available.
Internal Team Members:
- Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8-point policy (on application date)
- No written warning in the past six (6) months
- No suspension on record for the last 12 months
