Inventory Control Specialist

SUMMARY

This position assists the Supply Chain management in improving the accuracy and control of inventory within a facility. This position is also responsible for administering procedures for the stockroom, receiving & material movement areas and shipping. Lastly, the position coordinates, interacts, and communicates with different departments to resolve critical issues and discrepancies as well as drives continuous improvement of inventory control including ERP transaction activity and processes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Coordinates and executes inventory control functions ensuring a high level of inventory accuracy and timeliness of ERP transactions within the facility.
* Maintains and improves facility performance by conducting inventory control activities, processes or procedures. This includes providing inventory status and availability, service of back orders, cycle or physical counting, customer chargeback processing, internal auditing, inventory control problem solving, improving ERP transaction data or processes.
* Performs inventory transfers, inventory adjustments scrap processing, maintenance of lot traceability, proper storage identification to ensure the inventory system is properly maintained.
* Evaluates data and recommend action(s) for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.
* Manages and improves facility layout and control processes.
* Oversees consignment inventory, make-for-hold, supplier-managed inventory and Min/Max to maintain desired service levels.
* Establishes and revises work instructions for departmental improvements.
* Works closely with Production, Planning/Scheduling, Shipping, Quality, Purchasing, or other areas/management to meet operational needs and optimize inventory levels.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of this role do not include supervising other employees.

TRAVEL

Approximately 5% of travel is expected.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 3+ years of experience in warehouse, stockroom or inventory control positions, preferred.

* Cable and electronic component experience, preferred.
* Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement, preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

* Supply Chain certification or willingness to complete the Basics of Supply Chain Management module of the APICS certification program (or equivalent).

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Conversational in any other language is a plus.

* Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.

* Intermediate in MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
* Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

As part of their job duties, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to reach, stretch, push, pull, crouch, stoop, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. This role requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Warehouse environment: This is a work environment where employees typically work inside a facility and perform various tasks related to storing, processing, and shipping goods and materials. Some of the everyday activities that a warehouse worker does are preparing and completing orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule, receiving and processing warehouse stock products, performing inventory controls and keeping quality standards high for audits, keeping a clean and safe working environment, and optimizing space utilization and operating and maintaining warehouse vehicles and equipment.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

* ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.
* Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
* Hearing protection in specific locations.
* Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.

SALARY INFORMATION:

According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between $20.00 and $25.00 hourly. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline. When extending an offer, Carlisle Interconnect Technologies considers various factors such as the position's responsibilities, scope of work, candidate's work experience, education/training, essential skills, internal pay equity, and market considerations.
