IT Support Specialist - Helpdesk Associate

Abel Womack has an exciting, entry-level opportunity for a talented, highly organized, and motivated IT Support Specialist to join our small team of IT professionals dedicated to resolving issues and providing a consistent and professional level of IT support to our internal customers. The IT Support Specialist will install, troubleshoot and repair computer systems, hardware, software and peripherals and will serve as the first level of IT technical and functional support for employees and managers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serves as the first point of contact for internal customers seeking technical assistance over the phone, via email and/or through the Company's Help Desk system. Elevates to appropriate IT staff, as needed.
  • Responds to users' questions, trains users on basic system and computer functions, addresses system and user issues, and resolves or escalates issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Performs systems setup for new hires to include configuration of new laptops, Toughbooks and other equipment for employee use by applying cloning and imaging techniques
  • Configures, installs, and updates printers and associated equipment for three facilities
  • Orders, maintains, and deploys printer supplies for three facilities
  • Maintains, updates, and coordinates Asset Inventory of Company IT equipment. Coordinates disposal and recycling of end-of-life materials including used and unwanted equipment.
  • Travels, as assigned, to other Company facilities (3 locations in the Northeast) in support of IT projects & programs and to assist with technical problem resolution
Qualifications:

Your passion for providing top-notch internal customer service makes you well qualified for this newly created position. We also seek:
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Certificate or Associates degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent relevant experience, required. Relevant internships or prior helpdesk support highly valued.
  • Proficiency with standard functions within common applications such as MS Office (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, databases and e-mail), required
  • Knowledge of software and hardware troubleshooting, upgrading, and repair to include desktops, laptops, and associated hardware, required
  • Familiar with Microsoft 365, Windows 10 Pro, Windows Server 2012 - 2019
  • Experience with a Ticketing System such as ZenDesk or Spiceworks, preferred
  • Experience with remote support tools such as GoToAssist, preferred
  • Active Directory experience to include understanding of user accounts, creating/resetting passwords, preferred
  • Some prior experience with laptop/desktop/tablet setup and configuration using cloning and imaging, required
  • Experience with printers and printer maintenance (toner replacement, networking, break-fix), required
