Position Title: Lead Product Designer
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Anticipated Start Date: 12/16/2024.

Expected Duration: 6+ Months.
Job Type: Contract to hire, Remote
Pay Range: $55/hr - $65/hr.

Job Description: Globally recognized client is looking to bring on a Lead Product Designer on a contract to hire bases. The Product Design Lead will serve as a leader and contributor for the UX Design team ensuring the team delivers best-in-class digital products. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at providing both highly analytical and highly creative ideas for a design exercise. This candidate will also have extensive experience in a fast-paced and innovative product delivery environment - and, a thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads and manages a UX team, understanding and identifying a project's needs, performing research and analysis, setting objectives and guidelines, liaising with product and business stakeholders, and presenting final experience design solutions and recommendations.
- As a UX leader, it is essential to lead and encourage staff to reach product goals while enforcing the company's policies and regulations
- Expert capabilities in the design and creation of thoughtful, memorable, and impactful user experiences
- Drive full-cycle product design lifecycle exercises to inspire and create conversation about user experience outcomes
- Strong understanding of functional and visual design definition, direction, and execution
- Strong understanding of mobile-first application experiences and impacts on human factors
- Interaction design definition, direction, and execution
- Information architecture and ability to craft an experience based on business goals and objectives
- Design effort level scoping (landscape, scope, complexity)
- Contributing to internal and external relationships as needed per project need
- Strong ability to partner with product and technical stakeholders to understand constraints, limitations, and ability to challenge boundaries
- Researching & applying interaction design trends
- Researching & applying mobile experience best practices
- Perform in an Agile / SCRUM environment, with a proven ability to problem-solve
- Drives and contribute to research efforts: both generative and evaluative studies
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Arts, Graphic Design, Business, Marketing, or related field and/or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 5-10+ years of experience in user experience design.
- 2+ years of experience in team leadership (with or without direct management).

- Flexibility/adaptability (ability to change direction based upon team and stakeholder consensus and manage multiple projects at one time, while meeting aggressive deadlines).
- Experience creating, implementing and using design systems. Comfortable managing a large library of design assets for different platforms.
- Proficiency with tools such as Sketch, Figma, Miro, Mural, Jira and the Agile Methodology., etc.
- Familiar with design thinking and facilitating workshops.
- Accustomed to working the full product design lifecycle.
- Unwavering attention to detail when it comes to visual design as well as asset, file, and layer organization.
