JOB DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS.

  • Safety
    • Follow all Plant Safety Rules and Regulations
    • Utilize proper PPE at all times
    • Handle and dispose of hazardous material safely and per policy as outlined by all relevant regulations
  • Quality
    • Responsible to produce continuous quality parts and ensure all quality procedures are followed
    • Compliance to ISO 9001
    • Complete Manufacturing/Quality documents
    • Communicate with internally concerning deviations or general request
    • Assist in 6s and lean manufacturing practices
  • Environmental
    • Verify compliance to local, state, and federal regulations
    • Complete reports as necessary internally/externally
    • Handle Hazardous Materials, Report Spills
  • Primary Production Responsibilities
    • Independently operate machines, equipment, and produce production parts to required tolerances
    • Read and comprehend customer specification sheets; anticipate the next order and stage supplies/products as needed
    • Work from production schedule to determine daily requirements of lined drum parts while maintaining a two-day business lead
    • Set-up Lining Booth with correct lining for application; adjust if necessary, until satisfactory quality is obtained
    • Work from production schedule to prepare type of lining material required for the next run; and pump into Lining Booth system
    • Identify mixed lining to prevent any misuse of incorrect lining application
    • Perform lining tests to determine the quality of the lining application; reject parts that do not fulfill specifications.
    • Oversee unloading of finished parts from exit conveyor
    • Inspect/monitor every load for lining defects; set aside any rejections
    • Load parts in racks using separators such as cardboard
    • Complete daily/monthly lining usage and production records
    • Replace filters in Lid Lining Booth as required
    • Inspect/replace inline and booth filters as required periodically
    • Utilize Company systems for reporting production, scrap, inventory, etc.
    • Follow direction and product required quantities
    • Troubleshoot mechanical issues with other operators, maintenance, and management
    • Report any conditions of concern regarding products, materials, or safety immediately to Supervisor, SHEQ personnel or Production Manager


  • OTHER DUTIES
    • Maintain working area in a clean, orderly and safe condition
    • Maintain & report daily inventory of paint and solvents, rotate inventory.
    • Carry out minor maintenance overhauls and parts changes; including designated preventative maintenance
    • Track issues with downtime and/or equipment
    • Attend all required meetings and trainings
    • Perform all other duties as required or requested

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING
    • High School Diploma or GED preferred
    • Prior experience in industrial manufacturing
    • Hazardous Material Handling

    LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

    PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS
    • Offer highest level of innovation and problem solving skills to influence overall efficiency, improvements in productivity, outcomes, etc.

    VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS
    • Use verbal skills to transfer information to operators, maintenance, and management

    WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS
    • Complete reports such as production, quality, and inventory legibly

    MATH SKILLS
    • Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios

    COMPUTER SKILLS
    • Internal manufacturing systems

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    (Typically required on a regular basis to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.)

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed throughout the shift
    • Ability to stand, kneel/stoop, and walk for the duration of the shift
    • Requires good hand/eye/foot coordination
    • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud environments, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions
    • Vision: 20/20 corrected; and normal hearing range
    • Able to work in a non-climate controlled environment - cold in winter months and hot in the summer months

    • Boots: steel or composite toed
    • Safety Glasses
    • Gloves: Latex, work gloves, etc.
    • Hearing Protection
    • Sleeves: Cut resistant
    • Properly fitted clothing
    • Full mask
