CNC Machinist

3rd Shift - 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.

Responsible for setting up and operating Haas, Doosan, and/or Fadal CNC machines, as well as expertise in manual machines including lathes and mills. The Machinist will be responsible for producing precision parts to specifications, ensuring efficient machine operation, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines such as Haas, Doosan, and Fadal to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining operations.
  • Program and adjust machine settings (speed, feed, tool changes) to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure they remain in good working condition.
  • Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions and quality of finished parts.
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve any machining issues and optimize processes.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Accountabilities:

Commitment to working safely and understand all safety procedures. Operator/Inspector responsible for following control plan, assuring product is processed/inspected according to proper routings, specifications and that the quantity and style are correct. Work to meet daily departmental production goals. Must be reliable and dependable. Communicate safety, quality, product issues with supervisor, team members and across shifts.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Technical certification or apprenticeship in machining is a plus.
  • 1-3 years' experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating Haas, Doosan, and Fadal CNC machines preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of manual machining techniques including lathes and mills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools and gauges.
  • Solid understanding of machining principles and metal properties.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of G-code programming.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Available for overtime based on production demands.

Physical Requirements:

Environment with controlled temperatures and dust collection systems.

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.

Capable of walking, bending, stooping, and lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 35 lbs.

Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating machinery and handling tools.

Comfortable working in an industrial environment with exposure to noise.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including but not limited to: safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes with metatarsal protection and anti-slip soles, cut resistant gloves, when necessary, additional PPE as required.
