SK pharmteco is a custom manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs, Drug Substances) and registered intermediates for customers in the pharmaceutical industry. Our integrated facilities located in California, Texas, and Virginia specialize in process development, scale-up, and cGMP compliant production from kilograms to multi-ton quantities.

We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Rancho Cordova, CA (greater Sacramento area). We are a 24/7/365 manufacturing facility, so this position will be off-shift.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the successful completion of assigned activities including the maintenance, construction, installation, alteration and repair of on-site buildings, structures, facilities, equipment and machinery. Organize and direct the work of individuals and/or project teams in all aspects of assigned projects. Assures that activities within defined scope are accomplished in accordance with Company policies, sound business practices and are in compliance with FDA and OSHA regulations. With little to no supervision from the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for supporting various maintenance functions such as: Maximo Admin, coordination between the contractors and AMPAC personnel on a daily basis and for planning and coordinating construction activities. Directly supervises individual bargaining unit employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides direction to subordinates guided by established policies and precedents. Interprets and executes policies that typically affect individual employees of a section.
  • Supervises skilled trades and craft personnel performing work in such specializations as: machine repair, air conditioning and refrigeration, carpentry, painting, machining, welding, plumbing, cement finishing as well as unskilled support and maintenance tasks.
  • Provides on-the-job training and instruction to unit personnel.
  • Inspect work sites to ensure that machinery and equipment are in safe and efficient working condition and that facilities meet all industrial hygiene standards.
  • Plans workloads and assignment of personnel in accordance with predetermined schedules and in relation to availability of personnel, materials, supplies, parts and equipment.
  • May interpret prints, layouts, and outlines special considerations or techniques to successfully complete the work.
  • Inspects work in progress and completed work to ensure the quality and timelines of assigned projects.
  • Maintains continuous safety surveillance, instructs, and investigates safety problems.
  • Coordinate with appropriate operating production or engineering personnel to resolve problems, expedite deliveries of materials and supplies, and to determine priorities.
  • Prepares reports and maintains records regarding unit's activities including work in process, work completed, machine and material utilization and employee work time.
  • Performs duties as admin over the maintenance CMMS (Maximo) in all the functions available through Maximo.
  • Oversees all contractors working through the maintenance department on capital and small in-house projects of new and repairs of site facilities and process equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Typically requires 3-5 years of experience in the related area as an individual contributor and bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Four (4) years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
  • Ability to operate site equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and proficiency in plant operations, normally obtained through trade school, experience and in-house training.
  • Read Blueprints, P&ID's, and wiring schematics.
  • Repair and troubleshoot mechanical components including Reactor, pumps, valves, fans, filters.
  • Skills directly relating to and progressively responsible for experience in the Maintenance field.
We are a 24/7/365 manufacturing site and this position may require off-shift and weekend work.
