SUMMARY: This position is part of a group of Team Members who are committed to supplying cost competitive high-quality protein by taking care of people achieving operational and environmental excellence, managing risks, and exceeding customer expectations in a workplace that provides for individual dignity and respect. This position is responsible for managing feed and live haul activities including rendering drivers feed and live haul drivers, and all movements of animals and feed from one local destination to another. It is also in charge of the daily duties of the sorting station, feed delivery, scheduling, and is required to keep an active list of all vehicles and their locations. This position is responsible for compliance to all Department of Transportation regulations, environmental issues, safety guidelines, and the biosecurity protocols. Specific duties include creating and maintaining daily feed and live haul schedules and keeping a master log of animal locations. Other duties include maintaining records of all accidents point accumulation for safety, awards, payroll, and drivers' logs, as well as conducting driver safety meetings, new Team Member orientation and other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Specialized knowledge in a related field normally acquired through two years of college resulting in an Associate s degree or equivalent.
Experience: 5 plus years. DOT knowledge, scheduling, and driver experience. Live poultry experience, grower relations, 3+ years management experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Supervisory: This position is responsible for managing one or more groups of Team Members who perform like activities.
Travel: 6 plus domestic trips per year.
