Description:
Our client is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for their plant in Odon IN. This will be a 12 hour night shift role from 7pm to 7am on a 2-2-3 schedule. They are looking for someone who is self sufficient and well rounded in mechanical and electrical repair of manufacturing plant systems and equipment.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Service production equipment in order to minimize downtime and scrap
  • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled and directed by Team Leader
  • Complete open work orders in a timely fashion as directed by Team Leader
  • Record daily work done in emailed shift report and Plant Maintenance Log
  • Maintain Maintenance shop cleanliness and orderliness
  • Ability to assemble, disassemble and convert/upgrade production lines or support equipment as required for repairs, upgrades and/or installations.
  • Regularly inspect production lines and support equipment and schedule necessary preventive maintenance routines.
  • Welds together metal parts, equipment pieces, etc. as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Rotates on-call schedule with maintenance staff.
  • Orders parts as needed for service.
Essential Functions
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Climbing stairs
  • Working from secured platforms of up to 40 feet high.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Wear all personal safety equipment required by Company policy and follow all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Understand and consistently perform daily tasks i.e. (paperwork, computer entries, cleaning)
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge of a specialized field gained through specialized training equivalent to one year of college or trade school or equivalent experience of four to five years preferred.
  • Two to four years of experience in industrial electrical repair including drives, instrumentation, and process controls involving high-speed production equipment and experience with extruders, resin conveying equipment, packing equipment, and state of the art process controls would be ideal
  • Must possess basic mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Must demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical and/or engineering blueprints, drawings and schematics.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems and equipment, including drives, motors, etc.
  • Must work well in a Team environment
