The Opportunity
We are seeking a full-time, 36-hour Medical Assistant to support the practice onsite. This position consists of a rotating schedule Monday through Friday. The shifts are:
- Early Shift - 6:15am-2:45pm
- Middle Shift - 7:30am-4:00pm
- Late Shift - 8:00am-4:30pm
*Late shift on Tuesdays are from 9:00am-5:30pm
As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team. They will rotate supporting our providers, as this kind of approach will provide the MAs with an opportunity to collaborate, develop skills, gain exposure to different styles, and expand clinical knowledge! At the Bellamy Health Center, we value long-term relationships and provide a steady environment where staff can thrive and develop their skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
- Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, immunizations, phlebotomy, point of care testing, procedures, and treatments as directed)
- Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)
- Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
- Performing the functions of a front desk representative during times when the office is not as busy from a clinical perspective and as directed/assigned.
- Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.
We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned practices and locations; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments in the WHP system when appropriate and needed during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances for cross-coverage purposes and to ensure adequate coverage and support.
Qualifications QualificationsWhen hiring, we look for candidates who possess not only the relevant skills and competencies, but also positive attitudes, emotional intelligence, and genuine passion for this work. This position would be a great fit for a candidate who is just starting out in their Medical Assistant career and breaking into the industry.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Currently working as Medical Assistant with minimum of one year of experience, or Successful completion of Medical Assistant School/Program or have completed comparable training within discipline of EMT or equivalent military training.
- Six months experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Must obtain a national Medical Assistant certification within 1 year of employment.
- AHA or ARC BLS within 90 days of hire.
