This is an on-call position. Provides food service, custodial, grounds maintenance, general labor or other main support on an on-call basis.
Unit Position SummaryThis position serves as an On-Call Service Maintenance and coordinates operational activities in order to accomplish the goals of the IPF Service Garage. Position is responsible for the following: record keeping and accounting, customer service, purchasing, inventory, fuel management and creating vehicle maintenance orders for the university fleet. Possession of a valid vehicle operators license; Must drive a University vehicle to perform job duties of this classification.
Regular attendance is required to meet business and customer needs.
Job responsibilities are as follows:
30% - Assist in the preparation of Service Garage work orders through an electronic work order management system.
20% - Record items received, dispensed and returned through inventory control software.
15% - Perform physical inventory of stock items. Assist in the ordering of supplies, materials, and equipment.
15% - Assist in scheduling vehicles needing servicing for the Service Garage.
10% - Assign work to and check work of assigned support employees. Instruct assigned support employees in work methods. Arrange for the collection and delivery of supplies and equipment. Maintain inventory levels in accordance with specific instructions.
10% - Correspondence through email, training, meetings and professional development.

3 + years work and experience in a vehicle service repair facility, specializing in an office setting and customer service. Familiarization with Planon or an Asset Management System and Microsoft Office. A creative and innovative lifelong learner with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population; able to problem solve within a collaborative team environment; ability to understand different perspectives while utilizing expert knowledge of the technical operations of the job.
