Job Summary
Ellison 12 is a 36-bed adult medical unit located in Boston, MA, USA. The unit is devoted to the care of the acutely ill medical patient. The patient population on this unit includes a diverse mix of medical diagnoses requiring complex nursing care. The unit is in search of a highly motivated and dedicated individual with Day shift availability to join our team as a Full-time Patient Care Associate (PCA) in the Medical Unit.
We are only considering full-time Day shift applicants for this opportunity.
Qualifications
What are we looking for?
- Assisting the healthcare team, the PCA promotes a safe and caring environment for patients under the mentorship of an RN.
- PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.
- Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers.
- Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self.
Schedule
- 7am-3pm and 7am-7pm
- Rotating Weekends and holidays

Required : Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care.
Preferred : Licensed, certified, or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire,
OR Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed, at time of hire
