Role description:
The Plant Electrical Engineer provides technical expertise within the Bridgeton plant. The area of discipline includes but is not limited to heavy industrial equipment, conveyors, batch systems, and other areas associated with glass container manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop solutions for the Bridgeton plant to satisfy the capacity customer and quality constraints and ensure they fall within the Ardagh Group Capital Plan
- Supervise all electrical work and personal
- Interface with contractors and other Ardagh Group engineers during field installations
- Evaluate new processes and plant equipment to determine the benefits to Ardagh Glass Packaging
- Investigate circumstances surrounding plant electrical equipment and prepare a plan to maximize usage and production
- Participate and/or lead root cause analysis on equipment failures
- Document maintenance task steps to properly maintain manufacturing equipment
- Provide operational support and troubleshooting for ongoing issues
- Collaborate and support plant maintenance teams with respect to preventive and predictive maintenance of the electrical systems
- Aid in the facilitation of corporate capital projects, working alongside the corporate engineering team to implement the best solutions for the Bridgeton plant
- Train plant operations and maintenance teams on operation/troubleshooting of the electrical systems in glass bottle manufacturing
Minimum skills / qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
- Three (3) years in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and can identify problems and make recommendations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred skills / qualifications: - Ability to design and render working drawings for a variety of manufacturing processes
- Experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemen's PLC's
- Prior experience in glass container process equipment and production
- Prior experience with preventive and/or predictive maintenance programs and CMMS
- Knowledge of AutoCAD
