PRODUCTION MANAGER
The School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) is the foundation of a liberal arts education at Stanford. The school encompasses 24 departments and 24 interdisciplinary programs. Department/Program Description: The Department of Music at Stanford is an academic department consisting of 16 Academic Council faculty, 61 lecturers, 12 Adjunct Professors, 3 Artists in Residence, 1 Visiting Artist, 50+ undergraduate majors and minors, 24+ Master's students, and 35+ doctoral students. Stanford Music is also home to the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), the Center for Computer-Assisted Research in the Humanities (CCARH), and the Music Library and its Archive of Recorded Sound (ARS).
Position Summary: The Department of Music is seeking a Production Manager (PM) to partner with the department faculty and staff to achieve continued growth and preeminence in research and teaching.Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the PM will provide management oversight and direction for the productions of the Department including those involving departmental and non-departmental resources, buildings, budgets, and facilities, specifically Dinkelspiel Auditorium, but also other performance venues the Department uses or oversees.As the partner to the DFO, the PM occupies a critical leadership position, ensuring the smooth operation of the critical production needs of the Department.The PM also makes recommendations to the DFO for the budgeting, maintenance, and other needs of the Department's production function.
As the production head for the Department, the PM provides leadership and direction for all production activities, including recommended budgeting, billing, scheduling, and oversight of overhires for the approximately 180 concert events the Department puts on each year.In addition, the PM oversees all aspects of Dinkelspiel Auditorium, include hiring and overseeing staff as needed.The PM has two direct reports who support aspects of production, including interfacing with Stanford Live and the Bing Concert Hall, Memorial Church, and the creation and editing of the archival recordings and livestreams the Department creates of its concerts.
This is a 100% FTE, continuing, exempt position. This position will be based on the Stanford campus and will be considered for an option of telecommuting (hybrid of working on-site and off-site), subject to operational need.

The expected pay range for this position is $77,100 to $117,000 per annum.
