Zurich North America is currently hiring a Project Leader role and this person will work in a hybrid schedule at our Schaumburg North America HQ. This person will report to an Application Portfolio Manager within BC/IT Corporate Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing multiple small and medium-sized projects, sometimes simultaneously, within a centralized services organization supporting multiple business units.
  • Defining project goals, objectives, and deliverables. Creating a project plan, including timelines, resource allocation, monthly status reporting, and risk management strategies.
  • Building and leading a project team, assigning tasks, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Identifying project stakeholders and maintaining regular communication with them to manage expectations and address any concerns.
  • Monitoring project costs, tracking expenses, and making necessary adjustments to ensure the project stays within the allocated budget.
  • Strongly serving and supporting the Product Owner and Development Team in their delivery.
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Application Design and Development area OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Application Design and Development area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management experience
  • Scrum/Agile development experience
  • Experience communicating with all levels of the organization, able to tailor the conversation to the audience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Insurance background is preferred
