Job Details:
This position is responsible for:
- The operation and maintenance of the refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
- Must be able to complete Lock Out / Tag Out training and follow procedures. Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and/or other problems on refrigeration equipment.
- Do preventive maintenance. Adjust Equipment. Perform certain lubrication functions. Be involved in all maintenance functions at the plant if needed.
- Must be part of the HAZMAT Team. Must be tested yearly and pass to wear SCBA for job.
- Does assigned work orders.
- Assist in keeping the shop clean and orderly.
- Checks out and accounts for parts used on the job.
- Troubleshoot and repair machine breakdowns.
- Must be able to work with mechanics of a higher L-level for training.
- Train and pass on knowledge to lower-level employees.
- Comply with OSHA standards. Must print out, file, and maintain all work orders pertaining to ammonia in appropriate files.
- Must obtain Boiler Certification within 18 months and renew every 5 years.
- Fill out daily documentation that is required in SAP.
- Perform work in a safe manner.
- Cleans up area after tasks are complete.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Abide by all company policies / procedures, written or verbal. Perform any other tasks assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least three years). Must have PSM experience.
- Previous poultry processing experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required for the Position
- Complete Refrigeration Training Level 1 (hands-on) within 30 days of hire date.
- Must be a member of the hazmat team and pass required physical. Must be familiar with plant compressed air system and all water supply systems (Ex: chill water, hot water, city water, glycol systems).
- Must be able to read all documentation related to the job including (but not limited to) reports, assigned PM's, work bucket assignments, etc.
- Must be able to properly write required documentation in logs, reports, etc. relating to the job.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide for calculating proper system requirements, fluid capacities, etc.
- Must be willing and able to lift 50 lbs. on a daily basis.
- Must be able to work competently and efficiently with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to troubleshoot equipment. Must be clean shaven to the corners of the mouth (Hazmat requirement).
Must be able to work in harsh environments for short periods of time (Ex: Heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, water, mud, etc.). Must be willing and able to work or a period of 12 hours. Must be able to perform essential functions of job with or without reasonable accommodation. Pay based on experience
