Job Title:Research Technician 3Department:FAES | Food Science and Technology

The Department of Food Science and Technology Food is looking to hire a Research Technician 3 to work in Dr. Farnaz Makely's research laboratory. Responsibilities will include conducting research in food pilot plant environments; design, perform, document scientific research projects, and coordinate data generation and analysis; install and maintain laboratory equipment; train undergraduate students and lab visitors on the use of laboratory equipment; perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by Principal Investigators.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Food Chemistry, or a related discipline required. Master's or PhD desired in Food Science, Chemistry, Food Chemistry, or a related discipline.

- 2-3 years of relevant experience needed.
- Proficiency in food analysis principles and experience with laboratory equipment.
- Competency in MATLAB and image analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of food chemistry and physical properties.

The salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
