The Indiana University School of Dentistry has been advancing oral health in the state and beyond since 1879, when it was founded as the Indiana Dental College. Job Summary

This position supports the Departments of Biomedical Sciences and Comprehensive Care.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Manages mouse colony and genotyping.
  • Maintains oral tissue histology.
General Responsibilities
  • Monitors inventory levels of needed materials, supplies, and equipment supporting research projects.
  • Prepares supplies for appropriate use in field experiments.
  • Sets up experiment apparatuses according to established protocols.
  • Prepares reports and maintains all relevant documentation.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
Preferred
  • Associate degree in Dental Hygienist
SKILLS

Required
  • Proficient communication skills
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism
  • Demonstrated time management and priority-setting skills
  • Demonstrates a high commitment to quality
Preferred
  • Proficient in oral tissue histology

Working Conditions / Demands

The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Additional Information

This position is grant funded with expected annual renewals. Renewals are contingent on the availability of grant funds.
