The Role

Thornton Tomasetti's Structural practice is looking to further grow our Parking Garage Group. Our purpose is to supplement our structural practices across the country and world with parking experience that gives our clients the ability to sole source a full engineering and functional package for multi-use projects.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to manage multiple parking garage projects from concept to construction.

With TT's infrastructure, technology, and senior-level support this group is positioned for growth. With the right combination of experience, drive, and willingness to push yourself out beyond your comfort zone this role will be instrumental in the breadth and speed of the group's growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the direction, coordination, planning, organization, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility.
  • Work on the structural and functional design of parking structures with a working knowledge of access control systems, electrical, ventilation, plumbing systems, and the applicable sections of the building code.
  • Management of our parking garage projects, coordinating the internal design and modeling, and coordinating with our outside consultants.
  • Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
  • Plan and formulate engineering program and organize project staff according to project requirements.
  • Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes.
  • Manage other design team members and supervise the work of engineers and draft persons.
  • Direct project staff in preparing contract documents, such as drawings and specifications.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer and/or SE License.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.
  • Design-build and mechanical parking experience is a plus.
