Job Description
The Senior EHS Coordinator is responsible for leading and supporting Environmental Health and Safety programs across multiple laboratory sites. This role includes mentoring and training safety coordinators, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, driving continuous improvement through data analysis, and fostering a proactive safety culture. The Senior EHS Coordinator will also manage administrative safety functions, communicate safety performance, and act as a liaison for local safety initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings with each Safety Coordinator to provide guidance, address concerns, and support continuous improvement.
- Meet monthly 1:1 with NBLSC EHS team to align on EHS strategies and initiatives.
- Provide onboarding and training for new Safety Coordinators, ensuring they understand policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Coach Safety Coordinators on conducting thorough incident investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurrences.
- Provide coaching on regulatory compliance, including the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) and USDA regulations.
- Develop and deliver effective training programs based on trends identified in safety metrics to address potential hazards and risks.
- Host a monthly call with Safety Coordinators from various sites to discuss ongoing initiatives, share best practices, and address challenges.
- Publish a monthly safety newsletter to highlight recent incidents, compliance updates, safety tips, and success stories.
- Virtually attend and contribute to local safety committee meetings to ensure alignment with organizational safety goals and address region-specific concerns.
- Maintain and manage the schedule for safety activities, including audits, training sessions, and inspections.
- Review, analyze, and trend safety metrics to identify potential areas of concern and drive data-driven improvements.
- Manage inspection data using the iCat platform, ensuring all safety inspections are properly tracked and issues are resolved promptly.
- Assist in onboarding safety programs for newly acquired laboratories, ensuring seamless integration of safety practices and compliance measures.
- Act as the local EHS Coordinator for their home laboratory, ensuring compliance and leading safety efforts on-site.
- Perform four onsite safety audits annually-one per region and one at the local lab-to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with quality assurance (QA) items related to safety as needed.
QualificationsBA/BS in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health, or a physical or life science.
2+ years of experience in EHS roles, with demonstrated leadership or coordination experience.

- Experience with incident investigations and root cause analysis.

This position is a hybrid role with at least 3 days per week being on site.
This role has a salary range of $50,000-55,000 with health, dental and vision benefits as well as a company matching 401K plan and PTO plan.
Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business section, and geographic location
